Scouting is a year-round program for boys age 11-17

For boys age 11 or older or a Scout age 10 that has earned the Arrow of Light Award

A program of fun outdoor activities, leadership opportunities and personal exploration of career, hobbies/interests

Progress in rank, starting from Tenderfoot to Second Class, First Class, Star and Life.  The highest achievement is the rank of Eagle Scout.  About 2% of all Boy Scouts earn the Eagle Rank

Troop 168 is scout-run. This means that the Scouts assume Leadership roles to run the Troop with adult guidance and supervision

Troop 168 is outing oriented. The boys suggest things to do and the adults try to organize what is possible.

The Troop organizes one week-long summer camp each year.

The Troop organizes one weekend camping trip per month

The Troop works on rank advancement during weekly meetings

The Troop works on several Merit Badges during the year.

Troop 168 is celebrating 60th anniversary in this year.

Most Important is Fun!

Our Scouts cannot wait to “get where they are going”. Be it camping, hiking, biking, snow sports or water sports.

No matter what the activity the Scouts have chosen we always make sure the primary ingredient is fun! 

Key Notes For Parents

All events are adult supervised.

Parents are encouraged to attend any and all activities, including camp outs and summer camps. 

Leadership by practice.

Hazing is not tolerated.

Good values are promoted.

Troop 168 is an all-volunteer organization. We welcome parental support and participation.

Troop 168 is a friendly, inclusive organization. It’s a great place to meet other parents and families from all around our community.

A high percentage of our Scouts attain the rank of Eagle.

College admission offices highly value Scouting success.
